Acne Scar


What is Acne Scar?

Acne scars are the result caused by inflammation of acne blemishes. Acne scar occurs when the acne pore swells and a breakdown happens in the wall of the pore. Because some acne blemishes are small and the scars built are shallow hence it will heal quickly. But sometimes some acne blemishes spread into the surrounding tissue and causes deeper scars.


What Cause Acne Scar?

When acne breakouts penetrate the skin deeply, they damage the skin and the tissue beneath it. As the acne clears, the body tries to repair this damage by producing collagen which gives the skin the support to heal. Scarring happens when the body produces too little or too much collagen.

There are two main forms of acne scars: A scar develops when there is a loss of tissue cells, which then results in an indentation in the surface of the skin. These types of scars are known as:
Rolling scars – broad depressions with a sloping edge
Boxcar scars – broad depressions with sharply defined edges
Ice-pick scars – these are deep, narrow, pitted scars
Some acne scars tend to develop on the surface of the skin known as Hypertrophic or keloid scars which appears like a thick and lumpy scars.
