Botulinum Toxin (Botox)


What is Botulinum Toxin?

Botulinum toxin also commonly known as Botox is an injectable (OnabotulinumtoxinA) which works to block the nerve signals responsible for sweating and freeze your muscles temporarily to reduce the appearance of fine lines and facial wrinkles.


How does Botulinum Toxin work?

This minimally invasive procedure works when botox is injected into the skin to block nerve signals and muscle contractions around the injection area that is responsible for sweating, thus stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat.

This treatment also helps to improve the appearance of wrinkles and later on, slowing the forming of new lines by preventing contraction of facial muscles.

There is minimal to no downtime for Botulinum Toxin treatment.
You may experience minimal minor bruising or discomfort around the injected areas, but these symptoms would subside within a few days. However, you are advised not to rub, massage or apply pressure to the treated areas as this could cause the Botox to spread to other areas of your body, thus affecting the results.
Botulinum Toxin treatment takes around 10 minutes. It is advisable to repeat sessions once every four months, and the treatment is repeated as long as it’s needed by the client.
