What is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a treatment involving exfoliating agents that will gently help to remove the rough upper layer of your skin leaving it looking fresh and rejuvenated. It helps to reduce the appearance of melasma by removing the epidermis. Advance versions may also penetrate the middle layer of your skin (dermis) to produce more effective results.


How does Chemical Peel work?

When the exfoliating agent is being applied onto your skin, the chemical peel will start working by gently removing the upper layer of your skin giving away to a new layer of skin right underneath. This treatment contributes to the rejuvenation of your new skin cells, tightening and smoothing your skin.

There will be downtime depending on the strength and depth of chemical peel treatment.
Your skin may become sensitive after the treatment. If you undergo deep peels in your treatment, you may experience blistering and swelling, after which the top damaged layer will peel off over two weeks giving you a much more glowing and rejuvenated skin.
Each chemical peel session takes about 30-60 minutes. Normal chemical peel treatment can be done once a month while deep peels are recommended about once every 6 months, but it varies for each client depending on their skin condition.
